Daily Spiritual Guide
We think a place which encourages meditation and spiritual insight is a good thing

Meditation and Spirtual InsightAbout This Website

The concept is: a forum for people known and unknown to share their experience for the benefit of all.

We grazed the internet and bookstore sections on religion, meditation, spirituality, and new age and found hundreds of editions fat and thin, with titles serious and humorous, and often containing more theory than experience. Many promised a solution for some ill - alcohol, food, or sex addiction; poverty of wallet or spirit. Others were imposing looking reprints with commentary of famous works; some offered daily messages specific to different faiths.

What we could not find was a simple collection of readings for each day offering shared experience in dealing with life's ordinary and persistent issues - relationships, fear, success, failure, joy, selfishness and addiction.

Dealing with issues

We've found when dealing with these issues in our own lives that what works best is a combination of listening to friends relate their experience in situations similar to what we happen to be going through, and searching out the thoughts of others whose experience is broader and deeper, or at least different, than those around us. People like Leo Tolstoy, C.G. Jung, Marcus Aurelius, the Dalai Lama, Joseph Campbell, Eknath Easwaren and the great holy teachers like Buddha, Jesus Christ, Sri Krishna and Mohammad.

If visitors to Daily Spiritual Guide don't find daily spiritual inspiration to help put their day into perspective the site won't thrive. But if a few people find what they need and a few of these people in return offer to share messages that have been of use to them this could turn out to be a powerful and helpful place; overall, a good thing.
